3. Exert yourself
Don’t over-stress yourself, don’t overdo be it work or studies. You need more rest during this time of the month. Stress levels can severely affect menstural cycles. When the body is under stress, brain alerts our body to secrete stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Cortisol is the one that decreases and prevents release of menstural hormones like estrogen.
4. Junk food
While it is normal to crave for junk food during your periods, it is not the right time to consume much fat as your metabolism might not be able to process it and you might put on some extra weight. Opt for healthy food like salads and steamed vegetables or raw fruits instead. Or just have some low-fat chocolate. But please note too much sugar during this cycle initiates excessive skin ageing, more prone to wrinkles on skin, a process called glycation.
