Alternative to Drinking Water During Meals
In case you want to sip on something with food, go for a warm beverage like lemon or herbal tea, or water at room temperature is also fine. However, try to avoid taking any liquids between meals and chew on small quantity of food at a time and let saliva make it easy for you to slip it down your throat.
How Much Time To Wait Before and After Meals For Water
To keep yourself hydrated and not feel the urge of drinking during and after meals, take your liquids/water at least 20 minutes before having food. When you are done eating, wait for a minimum of 30 minutes before taking a small sip of water.
Best practice is to drink water an hour after you have had your food.
