3. Chemical Leak
You might think you are on the safer side if you wash your plastic bottles regularly and thoroughly. However, if you are using hot water or washing the bottle in a dishwasher, it is not going to make it safe.
When a plastic bottle is washed in a dishwasher or with hot water, it can result in chemical leaks from the bottle that can dissolve in the water you store in it which in turn will go down your body once you drink it. Bottles marked as dishwasher safe can be washed in the dishwasher but it is recommended that you wash your plastic bottles with a mild soap with normal water.
4. Unreliable and Vulnerable
Plastic bottles are fragile and can get cracks with a little mishandling and regular washing. This can also result in bacterial growth in the bottle due to wear and tear besides a natural problem of water leaking from those cracks in the bottle.
Plastic water bottles marked as “disposable” should be immediately disposed off after consuming the water or drink from it. It is not recommended to reuse that bottle after its contents have been consumed. However, many people continue refilling plastic water bottles despite its “disposable” sticker and that is a very unhealthy step.
